Dassenach Women, Dancing at the Dimi
This Dassenach man is dressed and prepared to dance all day for the Dimi Ceremony. The men wear lepoard skins, feathered hats and dance with very long sticks. The biggest ceremony in a Dassenach man’s life is called Dimi. Its purpose is to celebrate and bless his daughter for fertility and future marriage. When he has gone through Dimi, a man becomes an elder.
