President Abraham Lincoln, Maj. Allan Pinkerton and Gen. John A. McClernand at Sharpsburg, Md., Oct. 3, 1862. Lincoln was there to persuade Gen. George McClellan to take his army on the attack against Gen. Robert E. Lee.
