Leum Titya 33  Sophy Village, Cambodia by Phil Borges

Leum Titya 33  Sophy Village, Cambodia

Leum was a secondary school teacher living happily with her husband and daughter when her husband became sick and died.  When she learned the cause of her husband's death was HIV/AIDS she immediately got a blood test and found she was HIV positive.  Once diagnosed, she was discriminated against by her friends and family and even lost her teaching job.  With her health fading and no way to support her daughter she became depressed and desperate.  Luckily she found an organization that gave her information about antiretroviral drugs.  Today she has formed a group of women that make the drugs available to other HIV positive widows in her community.
