Smoke, Cuba by Lisa Kristine

Smoke, Cuba

Cuba, greatly known for its choice, hand- crafted cigars, hosts forty two different types and sizes classified as fine, medium and thick. Brands such as Romeo and Julieta, Montecristo and Cohiba (Castro’s favorite until he gave up smoking) are commonly seen dangling from many a man’s mouth. With the hot political situation brewing between the US and Cuba in the 1960s, it was said that there were several assassination schemes hatched by the CIA to eliminate Castro. One of these fantastical ideas involved an exploding cigar. No wonder he quit!
