Sikh and Cane, India by Lisa Kristine

Sikh and Cane, India

The Sikh religion was founded by Guru Nanak, born in 1469. The religious philosophy was originally intended to bring together the best of Hindu and Islamic traditions. Because of their elegant and symbolic attire, the Sikhs are often the most visible of India’s religions. Although usually found in the Punjab, Sikhs live all over India. This gentleman was photographed in Uttar Pradesh while working as a guardian of an old dilapidated building.
