-2Oklahoma University has produced an educational festival to celebrate literature and photography, with a spotlight on global women’s issues. photokunst coordinated bringing Phil Borges and his traveling “Stirring the Fire” exhibition to OU, with the inspired help of catalyst/photographer/author Yousef Khanfar.
 
We have been very impressed by the quality and depth of OU’s rich dimensional offerings, and inter-departmental collaborators – kudos!

The 2013 festival features internationally renowned photographer Phil Borges. As well as participating in festival panels and workshops, he will speak at the opening of his exhibition Stirring the Fire: A Global Movement to Empower Women and Girls at OU’s Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art
The FJJMA Museum and OU;s World Literature Today will host the opening reception April 12 at 7 pm.

Concurrent with the festival was the release of World Literature Today‘s
Taking Pictures, Telling Stories,” a portfolio devoted to Photography and Literature,
 the March 2013 double issue of WLT, which features image galleries and essays by twenty-one photographers.
